Hello! I'm Silvana Ferreira and Leefee Studio features my photography and design. My passion for the still image grew out of my first love - the moving image. I was born and raised in Southern Africa. I have a degree in Film and Television and have worked for several major media companies like HBO, Miramax, Warner Bros. Television, Irish Twins Productions (for actor/director Edward Burns), and PBS. Over the years, my curious nature has also led me to continued study in Graphic Design (print, web and presentation), Integrated Marketing, and Event Management. I began formally exploring photography while in college but am largely self-taught.

These days, my most important project is raising my baby boy but I continue to make time for creative endeavors as a freelance designer-photographer. I believe that nature, art and design enrich our lives and a home is a sanctuary where anyone can create a calming, happy oasis using affordable art. I am most interested in producing images that have a vintage quality to them, frequently experimenting with 35mm and medium format film - and attempting to replicate the effect in the digital darkroom.

In March 2010, I opened an online photography shop. My work has been featured on numerous blogs, including Grace Bonney's popular design and home decorating blog, Design*Sponge (featured in the London Times as the #2 design blog in the world).
